🔥SURPRISE🔥 . Last night was the culmination of months of planning and coordination by Ferndale Coach, @MiniSMegan. It started with a message to ownership and a few Ferndale OGs and regulars. Megan’s hope was that we could pool enough money to get Ferndale GM and Coach, @EricSanture, an @assaultairbike for his bday. What started as a “lofty goal”, was quickly surpassed. The group of contributors grew, money flew in, and, last night, Eric was presented with that bike, a 5.11 vest, Crossover Symmetry, shirts and hats, his fave supplements and a pretty sweet statue of a weightlifting gnome (that’s sorta his thing 😂). . A huge THANK YOU to Megan for coordinating and planning this! . Last year Eric left a great gig in Ypsilanti, working on an awesome staff, to move an hour away, to a town he’d never visited, to dive in headfirst with Nicole and Nick on their dream of expanding Rise to a second location. We tried to prepare him for the difficulties that come with opening a new business, but sometimes there’s just no way to accurately portray to someone what they’re about to experience. Opening a business is tough, time-consuming and stressful. It can be exhausting and it’s easy to get beat up along the way. In order to be successful, you have to work extremely hard and Eric has always done just that. . . He moved here early and volunteered to help Nick and Cole build out the gym, long before it generated any revenue to pay him. He drove to Ohio to pick up equipment. He never asked for much and said thank you every time we bought him lunch, or found some way to reward him for his effort. Eric’s a good man, a hard worker, a great athlete and an awesome Coach. He had a big job to fill and we’re lucky he’s grown into it so well! Ferndale has grown into a powerful community of athletes who work out, hang out, push each other to get better, and, most importantly, have proven their ability to band together to be of good service. Yesterday was more than a birthday. It was a THANK YOU for helping to get this thing off the ground, so these people could meet, become friends and improve their lives through health & fitness. From all us Rise peeps – thank you @EricSanture. 🙏
